We have searched and selected 5 different sights in several destinations that you can visit even during the rainy season. All of them are not part of the mainstream tourist spots circuit you would find on every other guidebook but each will still have their own unique attraction.

1. The Ananta Samakhom Throne Hall
– Bangkok

Upon first sight of the Ananta Samakhom Throne hall at the end of Bangkok’s Rachadamnoen Avenue, visitors will notice uncanny similarities to Renaissance era structures usually found in Rome. As you first step into the building, you will notice the stunning central dome under which the Royal Throne sits. On each of the other six domes’ walls are beautiful artworks depicting the Kings of the Chakri Dynasty. The Arts of the Kingdom Exhibition is being held in the Ananta Samakhom Throne Hall.

On display are amazing works of art created by members of agricultural families, who learned Thai artistic skills from the Chitralada Arts and Crafts Centre under H.M. the Queen’s Royal Patronage.

Visitors can take a guided tour of the Ananta Samakhom Throne Hall from Tuesday to Sunday,
09.30 a.m. to 15.30 p.m.

Founded by HM the King, the Ang Khang Royal Project is regarded as the flagship for the Royal Projects as it is the premier research station in Thailand for temperate fruits, testing new strains and cultivating fruit saplings. Those varieties seen as viable cash crops will then be distributed to other Royal Projects for further research and cultivation. From June onwards nature lovers will like the many hiking trails passing through numerous fruit orchards, tea plantations and flower gardens.

Literally translated into Pier of the Kings, this mall is designed to blend in with the low rise structures of the surrounding area yet offering a convenient and modern take on the local markets.

Tha Maharaj consists of 50 open-air restaurants, bakeries, coffee shops and stores where you can enjoy a coffee on the boardwalk and watch the riverboats float by.

It is covered by the oldest evergreen rainforest in the world while huge limestone mountains shoot straight up in the air and deep valleys drop straight down. There are a number of magnificent lakes, exciting caves, wild animals and much more. Within the park visitors will find the stunningly beautiful Cheow Larn Lake where you can stay overnight in comfortable floating raft houses and luxurious tents.
